  1. Lovely Pocket KnifeReview by
A lovely item with just the right appearance to be an inoffensive EDC pocket knife. Out of the box, the blades were not particularly sharp - a utility edge certainly but not better - however 1/2 an hour's work on my Spiderco Tri-angle gave them a good edge. The wood handles have the uniqueness that only real wood can give and a couple of applications of a wax balsam has produced a beautiful finish with an amazing iridescent effect.

  2. Nice !Review by
Looks great out of the box , the wood scales are VERY nice . All three blades paper cutting sharp .Am very pleased with this knife ,in these days of knife phobia this one is ideal for EDC .I don,t know how they do it for the price BUT am glad they do ! .Another favourite ... (Posted on )
  3. HmmmmReview by
At first opening of the box I was a little shocked at the size but then again it is a mini , the look and feel are impressive for the price and the blade sizes are impressive also , on taking a closer look I was surprised to see the lambsfoot blade has been beveled on the wrong side (the same side as the opposing blade ) to overcome the blades hitting each other when they close the blade has just been bent to the left dad to see really as apart from this it's a cracking little knife and useful too , and a massive thanks to the guys at HH as the service once again was amazing....cheers guys . 4. Lovely small pocket knife Review by
The pictures really don't do this justice. The root wood has intricate swirls and ripples, with a tactile satin finish. A small sheep foot blade is more versatile than it may seem. And the main blade is a good size for apples, cutting a sandwich, and so on. The light weight means it is not a burden, takes up little room, but easily copes with just about any light task a pocket knife would be expected to do.

Blade rub is common with patterns like a Stockman, where two blades share opposite ends of the same layer. Same with Congress pattern pocket knives. It's the performance that counts. This one delivers.

  5. Good out of the box, great with some work.Review by
Out of the box and at under ten quid its a bargain. However, me not satisfied so:
I reprofiled the edges from the standard twenty degree edge down to somewhere around seventeen degrees, took the scales off and reglued them with a smidgen of Gorilla Glue then lightly varnished the handles. Now I am happy.

  6. Another great oneReview by
The root wood scales are very attractive and look better after a coat of oil or wax.
Lovely little well finished knife and pocket friendly.
    Another winner from RR.

  7. Proper gentleman's small pocket knifeReview by
This is my second RR in as many weeks I have added to my EDC pocket knife collection.

I love the traditional look of the wooden handles - very elegant.

I don't have huge hands but its more of a usable size than the peanut model. Probably would get something larger for heavy duty work though.

Nice to have the 3 blades styles however I'm unclear which is best for what situation yet. I currently use a larger Sheffield lambfoot as it good for food. I turn the blade upside down for butter.

For the money I'm giving it five stars, even though its got a couple of minor quality issues. One backspring sticks up a little in the closed position and the blades sometimes scratch against each other.

Blades out of the box were not razor sharp but a tickle with the Lansky turn box improved things greatly.

Looking forward to receiving a couple of other RR's in the post in the next couple of days. At their low cost and good quality you can afford to collect a few an decide which you like best. If you can't decide like me just rotate!

A little beauty, and practical too. (Posted on )
  9. Incredible, really.Review by
I didn't think quality like this was possible at anywhere near this price.

Fit and finish is 10/10 - the burls in the wood catch the light at different angles, almost like tiger's eye stone. The scales have slightly differing patterns either side

The backsprings are nicely weighted and are precisely aligned with the brass liners - honestly, this looks like an expensive little knife.

I have American slipjoints (of which these Rough Riders are imitations) which are put to shame by this, and were 10-15 times the price.

I'm no fan of '440' (presumably 440A) steel, but all three blades came as sharp as you could want and with even bevelling - the Heinnie invoice was mercilessly sliced asunder in seconds!

Add one on to your Heinnie order, I don't know how anyone could be disappointed by this. Mine has replaced various Spydercos as my watch-pocket knife, it's that nice to use.

  10. Good little knife.Review by
These Rough Rider knives are very good value for money but aside from that you get a really well made knife.
The wood scales on mine fit perfectly and polish up nicely with a bit of Renaissance Wax to seal the grain.
