I have two of these now. I thought I'd lost the first, the pocket clip didn't grip that well. No concerns with build quality or finish and the new one has a much tighter pocket clip. There is a vague hot spot, barely noticeable at a distance but there is a colour difference between the two lights. (Posted on 5 December 2013)Rating

With single AAA lights offering 60-90 Lumens now, there aren't many 2xAAA lights offering more, but this really does - and it's a clicky. Cons - the build quality is not absolutely first rate; it's only IPX-4 and the head sits very, very slightly out of true on its threads. Although a welcome departure from the "elongated chess-piece design", it is a bit slippy in the hand and pocket. Also, you can only change output mode when the switch is in the momentary-on position. Once it's clicked on, you have to switch it off again to change modes. And it's hi-med-lo with a silly strobe. There are plenty of pluses though. It is very neat, very bright and offers good output choices. The memory works fine if you've selected the last mode properly. I haven't tested run times yet but it works fine with alkaline and NiMH, and if I can get anything like two and a half hours out of the medium mode I will be very happy. I purchased the K3 recently to use for those times when I have to dress very smartly and so cannot carry a larger light in my pocket. It is a very nice light which has a good tint and floody beam. I like it. It also has more than sufficient lumens at its highest level. The build quality is very good and it looks more than adequately smart. I like the deep pocket clip a lot. This is an excellent piece of equipment. Bought it as an EDC. It is very bright for a 2 x AA torch with a good range of different modes. It has more of a wide beam than a narrow focussed one but gives out a good deal of light. Have used it in dark lanes walking the dog and it is far better tahn any other torch of this size I have used. I can definitely recommend this torsh. (Posted on 11 January 2013)Rating
