  1. Great knifeReview by

I have used this for a few hours and it works amazingly well. Sharp out of the box probably the sharpest knife out of the box I have ever gotten.

It works amazingly well for skinning and the handle is not slippery when wet. I was able to process some ducks much faster when using this.

I would use Mora products again

Bought the older version of this a few years back and it has been, and still is a real workhorse, so I decided to buy another and I'm pleased to say that the quality is just as good.
Fantastic value, just buy two and keep one as a spare, razor sharp and holds its edge, go for the carbon steel version, forget rust, a drop of oil wiped over it when you're done and it'll be fine.
In my mind these are unbeatable if you want a good quality sharp knife to actually use out there in the field, but it won't break your wallet if you lose it.
Fantastic service from Heinnie as always.

I have often read the reviews on Mora Knives but have never added one to my collection; I have never seen a photo of one anywhere that looks other than Mattel-style plastic rubbish.

Then I saw the Dutch Bushcraft Knives boys review one on YouTube and also saw it's their 5th favourite ever, up there with knives costing ££hundreds.

HH delivered it before I'd finished ordering. And I'm hooked. Handle is big enough for my meat-hooks and is so grippy, I don't see it slipping anytime soon. The blade is long enough for anything I'd ask it to do. And Sharp???? I don't even feel the urge to strop it.

This really is a LOT of knife for the price of a round in today's pubs. Stop fussing, they're smart. Buy one.

Supersharp wee general purpose knife use it all the time round the farm & the shed etc. Also nice & lightweight without feeling flimsy for when you decide to go a bit further afield. Very quick to resharpen to a razors edge. If you are in the market for a quality cheap knife-here it is!! (Posted on )
  7. Don't be fooled by the price/look - it's way better than you thinkReview by

Don't dismiss this as a cheap quality un-charismatic knife and be dazzled by higher price promising higher quality and more bling blades. If you think you might only ever buy one knife for camping/walking/bushcraft then very seriously consider this one. I doubt you will feel you will have wasted the very modest money and you will still be using it even if you move on to other knives. So many people have these as back-up knives you know they can't all be wrong! More user acceptance testing than an Apple product. It looks better in the flesh and it's just so practical and with such an excellent balance and blade edge that I find myself, as do many others, overlooking this charisma failure.
As another review points out - it's such a good price and so modest looking you're not frightened to properly get out and use it which you might shy away from with a £50+ knife.
It goes without saying for a reliable, fast and friendly you can rely on HH. I genuinely don't think there is any point looking elsewhere if HH have the item - buy it from them!

A great knife for such a low price. Super sharp out of the box, with a strop you could shave your face with it.

I'm only dropping one star as the last 1cm of the top of the blade the grind is fairly off centre.

  11. Top fixed blade everyday knife.Review by
    Rating
Having been through a bucket of lock-knives and a world of reviews for same I've settled on this as my "free" knife for use wherever not banned. It's the right size & shape for everyday tasks (and mine tend to involve leather work at some point), is about the same weight as a comparable folding knife, is easy to carry clipped to a back pocket and has none of the compromises of a folder.

But the best bit is that wonderful carbon steel blade with Scandi grind which outranks just about every stainless blade when it comes to cutting. For all of eleven sponds. I'm getting my wife one.

I wanted a good knife for bushcraft as it is an activity i am starting to pursue more seriously. And to be honest i didn't want to spend too much so when i found this i was so pleased but was skeptical of the quality because of the price. After reading the plethora of positive reviews i decided to get it and i certainly do not regret it. It is a fantastic knife, comes ridiculously sharp and feels very well made. Also the handle is very comfortable and fits my hand very well. I do agree that the spine is not particularly aesthetically pleasing but it does not affect the quality or functionality. Also as i haven't spent £100 on it i am not so worried about taking it into the woods and really using it, because i know that in the unlikely event that i break it i can easily replace it. I also really like the fact that it is carbon steel.
Along with the brilliant knife the service from HH was top top quality, very quick and kept me well informed.

I love everything about this knife! Its so comfortable and grippy, it looks great, it has a nice sheath, its super sharp and no to mention its less than £10 price tag! What isn't there to love about it? It holds a great edge for a long time and the scandi grind bites deep. I was comparing it to my esee 3 and honestly I probably prefer the clipper, the esee is certainly stronger but I think you'd have troubles breaking a clipper, the clipper fits my hand slightly better and the grind is defiantly better on the clipper. I would rather have 13 clippers than one esee for the money! I cant recommend this knife enough! (Posted on )

I bought this as a general use knife I could use in the field and not worry about losing or damaging it. First thing I would say is that the blade is exceptional, cuts really well (razor sharp) be as rough as you like and it still takes it, also very easy to sharpen in the field too. Just a bit of olive oil on the blade is all you need to keep it tidy. I will but several of these in the coming years I think :)
Big thanks to HH for getting it to me so quick as well... Top guys.

I've recommended these knives for a very long time and am glad to see so many other people agree! They are an excellent tool capable of punching way above their price tag.

You could spend ú120 on one good knife, or you spend it on 10 of these ones. If given the same level of usage, 10 of these will easily out-last a single ú120 knife, & you'll probably have 5 or 6 left over!

    Simple, effective, cheap, Boom.

This is a hell of a knife for the money paid. It's nice and sharp, very light, looks easy to sharpen as it just has one bevel. Nice grippy handle, good sheath. The only flaw I could see is that the top of the blade is a little rough which contrasts with the rest of the blade which came super shiny like stainless steel. Good delivery from Heinnie also. 22. you got to like plasticsReview by
    Rating
This is one tough knife. It has a 3/4 hidden tang which worries some people but the high-end plastic handle (kind of ABS plast) is tough. The knife can be batonned without problems just don't hit the handle and you will never have problems. The thin 2mm scandi blade is great for cross grain batoning due to its great penetration. The best part of the Mora knife is the fantastic high quality Swedish well-tempered carbon steel. I have not found a better true carbon steel in any expensive knife.
I like the sheath for its practicallity.

  23. Last a lifetime at a disposable price.Review by
I can highly recommend this knife. Don't be fooled by the budget price, this is a serious piece of kit. It comes razor sharp, holds an edge and is easy to sharpen. The plastic sheath is also good with a tight snap fit. This will handle lots of abuse for years to come. I also have the old version of this, the Clipper. It must be 10 years old and still going strong. You just can't go wrong with a Mora knife from Heinnie Haynes. (Posted on )
  24. Absolute bargainReview by
    Rating
Have been using this knife for 6 months - bought it as my handcrafted Karesuando was getting a battering, but actually prefer this knife for real-world use even though it's 1/8 the cost! Edge can dull relatively quickly and the carbon blade obviously corrodes (which can be an issue on longer outings), but otherwise faultless. Unreal value! (Posted on )

Arrived today with the usual Heinnie lightening speed. I don't really know what to add to the other reviews, it's just a great bit of kit for the money. Some aren't impressed with the sheath, but being so light, I find it'll clip to my elasticated jogging bottoms (no belt) without trying to pull them down. I'm often without a belt around the house and garden (I've reached that 'dress for comfort' age) so this is quite a plus for me. In fact, despite looking plasticy, the sheath (like the knife) has been well thought out. (Posted on )
  27. best knife I've ever hadReview by

This knife is probably the best knife I've ever had, I've used it for bushcraft, skinning rabbits cutting rope and splitting wood. It's handled everything I've thrown at it and it seems like it'll go on forever, I would definately recommend this knife to anybody. I couldn't believe how good this knife was especially considering how cheap it was! (Posted on )

    The updated legendary Mora Clipper.
10cm blade length; 2cm blade width and 2mm blade thickness (not 2,6mm). Weighs 115g.

The carbon steel Mora uses is the best I have ever tried of all steels. I own a lot of more expensive knives from Fallkniven, ESEE's, Becker Knife and tool, Enzo trapper in O1 and D2 tool steel, Finish Ranger Puukko....
But I keep coming back to Mora's knives. This model is one of their best with its almost fulltang (3/4 stick). But the 521 and the bushcraft Force is also great (Heinnie does not sell the 521). To seperate a blade from Mora ABS plastic handle is not an easy task. They handle batoning very well. I have batoned them for years (espeacially the 521). Just don't hit the handle with the baton which can loosen the tang in the handle making it possible to pull the handle off the tang if the blade is stuck in a log. It's possible to rehandle the tang in the field by hammering a fresh 1 inch thick birch (the best) branch onto the tang.

Upon recieving this item, I was initially surprised by the simple quality. For less than 15 quid, you're getting a real work horse.
It came out of the sheath pretty sharp, but after spending about 30 seconds on an old style oil stone, it had the edge of a surgeons scalpel. I reckon this knife could shave the eye lashes off a flea.
I'm actually a little scared to use it now. It would be great for general bushcraft or a good addition to any tool box. Highly recommended.
As always heinnie, thank you for the top class service. keep up the good work

Now I don't have the fortunate benefit of comparing this to a more expensive knife, but I have carved wood with this, batoned wood, made feather sticks and your general knife duties when camping and it's still sharp. Not razor sharp as when it was new but still sharp enough to perform well.

Very light, very comfortable, very sharp, very cheap, very capable, very good!!!
I would even consider buying a second one and as for Mora, definitely will be buying the brand again without hesitation.

I was bought this knife as a present 3 days ago and what a knife. It has honestly, the sharpest blade I have seen, and when you consider the price you pay for it, you simply can't go wrong. Because its a carbon blade it needs looking after so I'll probably get a stainless blade for using with food, but if your thinking of getting one of these, dont think, GET ONE. THERE FANTASTIC. Fantastic knife for the money. Be careful tho, it bites. I'm not saying it's sharp straight out of the box, but I did the paper test & it sliced cleanly through the paper & through my finger that I had managed to get in there as well. It cut through my knuckle to the bone with ease. Fantastic quality, & for the price how can you possibly go wrong. (Posted on )

This is the replacement for the venerable clipper, it has a slightly thicker more comfortable handle, and the blade is now a three quarter tang vs the half tang of the old model, a bushcraft classic. (Posted on )
