Boker Pocket Rosewood Knife

Boker Pocket Rosewood Knife

At just four and a half inches in total length this little pocket knife is small but effective. The 440 stainless steel blade is razor sharp and securely locked in place via the back lock mechanism. The Rosewood handle adds a touch of class to a quality piece.

  1. Small but qualityReview by
I've had this knife for quite a few years now, so I feel happy in leaving a review. Now this knife is small, so really make sure you want a knife so small in the first place (I'm primarily a collector). The knife was delivered relatively sharp, which is a nice bonus, but I usually sharpen most new knives when I receive them using whetsones.

The blade is 2 inches and is a typical drop point. The opening movement is silky smooth and the backlock is excellent. The knife itself is certainly attractive and the rosewood really makes this small piece stand out. Expensive for what you get, but it IS made to a high quality. The rosewood handle is well finished, brass liners and nickel silver bolsters scream quality. 440 stainless steel as listed *seems* accurate; the biggest downside is the edge retention - the steel is nothing to write home about but perfectly capable for such a small knife. But it's actually nice having a knife that doesn't need as much maintenance; stainless steel is really good at keeping rust at bay. I even managed to sterilise the blade using an open fire without damaging the knife (although I would advise against this).

Being so portable, I decided to keep this knife close to me at all times. It has been absolutely used and abused, submerged in rain, snow and mud whilst camping and cutting all manner of things. Even with minor rusting after a lengthy excursion (quite the feat for stainless steel - which I removed with autosol), the blade, mechanism, pivot and knife held up very well.

So, what you will get is a very well made, robust small knife that is very attractive, but with stainless steel (but quality stainless steel no less). It's a great show piece and a very capable little carry knife, but it's probably a bit expensive for what it is. To be fair, I have many knives in my collection and this is much better built than some I have which are triple the price. 4 stars because of the price, otherwise 5 stars would be well deserved.

Heinnie's are a fantastic supplier and I recommend them for all of your purchases.

  2. Classy little knifeReview by
Had one for some time now. Tiny, sharp to use, and sharp to look at. Feels like real quality in the hand, and looks lovely. Robust and well made. (Posted on )
  3. Small, very SmallReview by
This is a very small and rather expensive little knife, the rosewood scales are attractive but I cannot say that it is particularly well put together, I have found a couple of little defects already! It is a similar size to the Spyderco Dragonfly and although I much prefer the Wooden scales to the awful FRN that certain knife manufacturers insist on using, I personally don't think that it has such good ergonomics or practicality as the Dragonfly. Because of other knives which are available for this sort of money I am tempted to exchange it! Did I mention how small it is!! (Posted on )
  4. Small and perfectly formedReview by
Lovely little folder (it is small!) for your pocket, fit and finish is great, nice when you want to carry a small discreet knife. (Posted on )
